SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (News4Utah) – A group of protestors marched for animal liberation in downtown Salt Lake City Saturday afternoon.
The group says they are trying to increase awareness about the industries they accuse of causing suffering and pain to animals. March organizers say that every year in the United States over 10 billion animals are killed for food.
"Just like your cat or your dog, all animals feel pain and can suffer," said Akaysha Greer. "And so I encourage everyone when you’re going to the store and choosing your options to choose compassionately choose vegan options because it really does have a big impact on animals and our environment."
The event coincided with another march today in Berkeley California which is the site of this years animal liberation conference.
